1. What
is a PBX?
The term PBX stands for
Private Branch eXchange. A PBX is a device that connects office
telephones in a business with the public telephone network. The
initial central functions of a PBX were to route incoming calls
to the appropriate extension in an office, and to share phone
lines between extensions. Most PBX have additional functions such
as automated greetings for callers using recorded messages, dialing
menus, connections to voicemail, automatic call distribution ,
teleconferencing, and more. Traditional PBX cost many thousands
of dollars to purchase and there are yearly maintenance and repair
expense. TOP

What can a virtual PBX do for your business?
Historically, a traditional
PBX system requires large investments in hardware and software
along with an IT staff to manage the equipment.
Tufone’s Virtual PBX is much expensive to set up, run and
maintain. The setup is quicker for a virtual PBX system to be
set up because it is 'virtual' (usually within 72 hours depending
upon the size of the project). A Virtual PBX has all the benefits
of a traditional “physical” PBX system but without any hardware
or headaches.
A virtual PBX is the best alternative to investing thousands of
dollars on an old fashioned “physical” PBX.
Virtual PBX has all the
basic functions that a traditional PBX has - and much more!! It
allows your firm to have the appearance and functionality of a
PBX used by a large and successful corporation such as an auto
attendance function (e.g. "Welcome to XYZ Inc. For Sales
please press 1, for Administration please press 2, for News Desk
please press 3"). It allows your firm to seem much larger
than it really is!.
A virtual PBX also gives
you a professional answering service. Your customers will never
hear a busy tone when you are on the phone. You can to have
music on hold, or a count down voice (e.g. "you are the third
in the queue, thank you for waiting and we'll be with you very
shortly" etc.), or the call can be forwarded to a third
party receptionist to take a message.
Productivity can is increased
as a result of the use of a virtual PBX system. And
remember with a virtual PBX you will no longer need any bulky
equipment taking space in a closet as with a traditional PBX.
Another difference is that customers can easily change the settings
of a virtual PBX without having to call technical support.TOP
